Overflow (2019) - Teaser
Roles: Co-director; Co-writer
The short film Overflow was my directing debute and was released as part of the filmmaking program Burgas Film Lab with the support of Boulevart - Network of senses and the Municipalty of Burgas.
It premiered at the Burgas International Film Festival and screened at the festival Tous Courts in Aix en Provence.
During the project, I had the chance to work with professionals in the field of directing, cinematography, sound recording and many others. I learnt the essentials regarding film theory and developing an industry-orientated screenplay. During the process, I understood the importance of good communication in a team, as well as to think critically to solve problems on the spot.

Colours (2022) - Teaser
Role: 1st Assistant Director; Sound Mixer
Colours is a short experimental film done with independant filmmakers.
It premiered at Art Gallery SERDICA in Sofia, Bulgaria.
During the production of this short film, I learned the importance of maintaining a healthy team dynamic. One of my main roles was to solve troubles between members of the crew and ensure the production will continue. A key skill, that I developed, was rescheduling on the spot.

Lluvia De La Luz (2020)
Roles: Director; Writer
Lluvia de la Luz [Rain of Light] is a short experimental film, inspired by the poem "Hay Hombres y Mujeres"[There are men and women] by Juan Antonio Bernier. The film is a production of Burgas Film Lab.
One of the most valuable experiences I gained was communicating with the author of the poem, which the film is inspired from. My ability to speak Spanish became crucial for this communication and for the analysis of the text, as it is in Spanish as well.
Planning ahead was vital, as this production was filmed alongside the short film Sometimes.

Sometimes(2020)
Role: 1st Assistant Director
Sometimes is a short experimental film, inspired by the poem of the same name by Hristo Fotev, done as a Burgas Film Lab production.
Working on this short film helped me improve my communication skills as there were multiple locations, which were outside of our budget and negotiating and securing them was a great experience. Another situation, when this skill came in handy, was when motivating actors, since after long hours of work one of the lead actors had some hesitations to continue performing. With the right persuasion and after levelling with them, the crew was able to finish the planned shots.

When The Love Takes Hold (2022)
Role: Director
When The Love Takes Hold is a short thriller produced as part of the DV Mission's 48 Hour Challange. It was premiered on the festival in Portsmouth and nominated for best editing.
Making this film was one of a kind experience, which strenghtened my ability to work under pressure.
The team's main enemy surprisingly was not time, but nature. As a big storm was hitting our city, we had to take out equipment from a building with a roof falling off. Some of the equipment was missing, as the technitians letting it out had to evacuate. Moreover, we could not reach any of the planned locations, which led us to changing the idea all together.
However, despite all the setbacks, in the end the team made up of strangers managed to work as one and make the film on schedule.

Leten(2020)
Role: 1st Assistant Director
Leten[Summerly] is a music video, commissioned by Ilcho Madjarov and Velislav Iliev.
During the production of the music video, I learnt how to work with allocated budget and how crucial is planning, especially when working with a very limited amount of time.

Have You Had Your Meds?(2021)
Role: Producer; Sound recordist
The non-fiction short film Have You Had Your Meds? is a production as part of my studies in Univerity of Portsmouth.
The main challenges I faced and learned from were booking a filming studio and creating an elaborate Risk Assessment. The studio’s lack of available slots taught me how to be flexible when scheduling and the multiple RAs were a great exercise, as well as they emphasized the importance of proper health and safety on set.
